The GE1996T (made in Japan) is a superb design that combines the best features of other similar products. It’s extremely well made using only premium materials. The hardened steel baseplate takes wear and tear for years to come – and it’s harder (important!) than the machine hex screws screwed into it. This means that if you overtighten a screw, you’ll break the screw, not the baseplate – as happens easily in cheaper locking trem units. Another important feature are the machined steel saddles of the GE1996T that won’t break nearly as easily as cast saddles of other designs.
You’ve got a classic guitar, or maybe a re-issue. You’d like to upgrade to Gotohs. But how can a classic guitar look authentic with chrome hardware? Where’s the groovy vintage vibe? Where’s the mojo? What you really want is nickel.
The difference between chrome and nickel is slight enough that many people can’t even tell. You’re not one of those people, are you? You know what you want and you won’t settle for anything less. But since Gotoh doesn’t make SG Series tuners in nickel, you havebeen settling for less. Until now.
You’ve spoken. We listened. Gotoh SG tuners in nickel.
